Six historic buildings, dating from 1870 to 1912, combine to form this community museum. The buildings include an early log cabin, the first log schoolhouse in the area and a functioning country general store. Exhibits interpret the life of early settlers and the local industries. The area's navigational history is displayed through ship-related artifacts and archival materials. Unique items on display include a winter hearse used until 1950 and a wicker body box. A summer tea with costumes, poetry and music is held the second Sunday in July. Interpretative tours are available.
