Whitehern Historic House & Garden Event

Pyrography Painting Workshop
June 16, 2024 (1:00 PM - 2:30 PM)

Introducing a new workshop on the historic art of pyrography, an artform practiced by Ruby McQuesten. Ruby used heated instruments to burn decorative patterns into wood, sometimes applying colours on top for visual effect. After a shortened house tour highlighting some of these surviving pieces participants will spend a time in the beautiful historic garden painting replica wood-burned frames to the pleasant sounds of period music and taste of chilled lemonade.
