The museum provides a nostalgic look at Northern ontario heritage, and a historical account of the mining andnlumber industry and their railroads. The museum is located within a historically designated museum house built in 1916, and was the former CN superintendent's residence. In 2012 the museum purchased the old Town of Capreol Fire Hall and is currently using it as a Heritage Centre.
