The military lifestyle Canadian soldiers experienced in 1839 is explored at this restored blockhouse on the Rideau Canal. Located at the most southerly part of North America's oldest continuously operating canal, the blockhouse was built in 1833 as part of Canada's defenses. Staff and tours are available to answer questions and visitors can picnic beside the canal.
