Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery Exhibition

Stephen Livick’s photographs served as the inspiration for this year’s community art initiative which challenged teens in Lambton County to respond to the theme Humans of Lambton. In this exhibit, Livick’s portraits appear alongside a juried selection of those responses – carefully considered and selected by guest jurors based on submissions that excelled in the following categories: group, candid, and creative portraits.

This initiative is in collaboration with the Lambton County Library and is a continuation of the Take your Shot Teen Photo Contest which began in 2019.

About the artist: Stephen Livick was born in Castleford, England in 1945 and grew up in Montreal. His work is found in public and private collections throughout Canada and the United States, including the National Gallery of Canada, Canada Art Bank, the Art Gallery of Ontario, and the Museum of Modern Art, New York. A self-taught photographer, Livick is widely recognized for inventing a photographic printing process that combines laser technology and gum bichromate.
