Good Eye Responding to the landscape logo
Good Eye Responding
Until September 2, 2019

Sharon Barfoot has enjoyed a long and varied career in the arts that has included costume and jewelry design, teaching, graphics, curating and, most recently, painting full-time.  Sharon’s approach to the work in this exhibition is minimalist in which she applies the Buddhist concept of Miksang.  Miksang is a Tibetan word meaning ‘good eye’ where it is asked that we view the world in a new way; a way that is always fresh as if seeing it for the first time.  Sharon responds to the landscape with a ‘good eye’ and works to bare the bones and remove the details in order to find the essence of place.
