This exhibition series is a memorial and retrospective of our dear friend and master sculptor Floyd Kuptana who passed away one year ago.

It is still hard to imagine that he is not here with us, working, laughing, growling. We miss him.

Floyd Kuptana was born on February 14, 1964 at Cape Parry, Northwest Territories. The arctic landscape ran through him as did the concrete on the shores of Lake Ontario, and the city streets he walked on. He made his home where he was. He left behind an extraordinary wealth of creatures some of which you can see displayed here, part of the collection of his long-time friend JP Albert.

We invite you to spend time with the sculptures and the books displayed and to meet Floyd through his work.

The current show incorporates drawings by the late Daniel Hanequand, another artist whose work is in our permanent collection, which have been hung in the main gallery to converse with Floyd's sculptures.
