Ontario Museum Association (OMA) Announces 2013 Awards of Excellence Recipients

Markham – On Thursday, November 7, 2013, the OMA will present the 2013 Awards of Excellence at the Markham Museum with the Honourable Michael Chan, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport in attendance.

Each year the OMA presents Awards of Excellence to recognize outstanding contributions to the Ontario museum community. This year is the inaugural presentation of the OMA Museum Benefactor Award of Excellence which is to be presented to individuals and institutions whose transformative gifts have demonstrated exceptional leadership, continued support and outstanding commitment to Ontario museums. Congratulations to the following Awards of Excellence recipients:

Museum Benefactor

The W. Garfield Weston Foundation for its long term contribution through a pattern of giving to museums large and small across Ontario.

Raphael Yu, for his transformative gift to the George R. Gardiner Museum of Ceramic Art which established the Raphael Yu Centre of Canadian Ceramics.
