Waterloo Region Museum is the largest community museum in Ontario. The museum is open daily and features engaging exhibit galleries that explore 12,000 years of Waterloo Region from the past to the present. The museum features a main gallery that tells the stories of Waterloo Region and temporary gallery for diverse exhibits that will change on a regular basis. The Waterloo Region Hall of Fame is located on the second floor of the museum. The museum is also the entrance to Doon Heritage Village. Doon Heritage Village is a 60 acre living history village that shows visitors what life was like in Waterloo Region in the year 1914. The village features restored historic buildings, farm animals, interpreters dressed in authentic clothes from the 1914 time period. Doon Heritage Village is open seasonally from May to December. One admission price includes entry to the museum exhibit galleries and the historic village.
