The Textile Museum of Canada (TMC) is one of Canada's most dynamic arts institutions, advancing the relevance of cultural organizations by exploring ideas and building global understanding through the interplay of art and the materials of everyday life.  Located in the heart of downtown Toronto, the Museum's permanent collection spans nearly 2,000 years and consists of more than 13,000 artifacts from around the world.  A leader in the digitization of collections and interactive environments, the TMC emphasizes access within and beyond our walls, recognized the world over for innovation in the development of landmark educational, research, and creative initiatives.

Our artistic program blends exhibitions of contemporary visual art, design, fashion and other interdisciplinary practices that are generated in-house and from national and international partners as well as those showcasing the Museum's permanent collection - all within a wide interpretive scope that connects art to key 21st century issues and ideas.  We regularly exhibit photography, video, sculpture, sound and site-specific installations alongside traditional, ethnographic textiles - expanding entry points through interdisciplinary relationships and conversations that augment profile, relevance, and impact.
