The primary focus of this community museum is on the Haliburton area from the mid-to-late-nineteenth century. The site features a main gallery building open all year as well as several relocated historic buildings which are open on a seasonal basis. Key displays in the main gallery relate to important themes in the history of Haliburton as well as items of special interest from the collection. The period buildings include a late nineteenth century frame home from the village as well as a collection of log buildings which include a house, barn, and forge building. The log buildings are meant to depict the typical buildings that might be found on a backwoods farm. Guided tours and school programs are available by appointement.
