Gallery Arcturus Event

"Excuse Me" is a collage by Eron Boyd
"Constructing an Identity" in the Collage Gallery
Until March 1, 2017 (12:00 PM - 5:30 PM)

'Constructing an Identity' with work by Eron Boyd is on display in the Collage Gallery, a permanent space for collage, assemblage and mixed media among five exhibit areas at  Gallery Arcturus, a public art museum in downtown Toronto. From the artist:

In Constructing an Identity, I have explored my relationship to ‘Identity’ in its many facets.

When I observe myself in the moment I am less critical and more accepting of the different roles that I play. Observing is made possible in part through the process of making collages which appear as whimsical, humorous, awkward and at the same time beautiful.  They are surprising and perhaps let me loosen my tightly held grip on ‘who I think I am’.

To quote deborah harris; “Can we take our work seriously and not our self.”

"...It is like watching something come gradually into focus:
first it hangs in the clouds of myth and ritual, vast and vague,
then it condenses, grows hard and in a sense small..."
