City of Niagara Falls Museums Program

The Underground Railroad
Until December 31, 2015

Students examine the nature of slavery in the 18th and 19th centuries, some
of the symbols, music and secret messages used on the Underground Railroad,
the personalities that were involved, and the nature of their heroism. With the
Underground Railroad Game, teams of students ‘become’ characters trying to
make it to Niagara on the Underground Railroad. Decisions have to be made;
consequences of those decisions have to be abided. This is a game of wit
and chance.
